Tarnanthi - Art of Tiwi Artists of Munupi

Art of Tiwi Artists of Munupi features ten Tiwi artists who have created dynamic contemporary paintings on canvas using traditional ochre pigments. The visual imagery is based on an extensive cosmology from creation stories and elaborate traditional designs first created for ceremonies. These visual elements are interpreted individually by each artist.
