EXPERIENCE ANCIENT ROCK ART AT INJALAK HILL & EXPLORE THE DARWIN ABORIGINAL ART FAIR
Join Gloria Strzelecki, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Associate Curator, for a tour to Injalak Hill and Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair with a small group of like-minded art enthusiasts.
Art Tour guests will spend an unforgettable day in West Arnhem Land, learning about Kunwinjku art and culture at Injalak Arts Centre, experiencing the ancient rock art sites at Injalak Hill, visiting Injalak Arts Centre and meeting artists. Guests will then travel to Darwin to experience the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair and associated events.
We are also offering a reduced ticket price for participants who would like to join for Darwin only, from 6-8 August.
Itinerary Overview
Monday 4 August
- Travel to Jabiru from Darwin Airport (car transport included)
- Group dinner in Jabiru
- Accommodation included at resort in Jabiru
Tuesday 5 August
- Travel to Injalak Hill (car transport included)
- Tour of renowned rock art at Injalak Hill with Traditional owner (3 hours of walking in heat. Some physical fitness required)
- Visit to Injalak Art Centre
- Travel to Darwin (car transport included)
Wednesday 6 August
- Gallery tours, artist talks and/or behind-the-scenes experiences led by Gloria Strzelecki, Associate Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art
- Tour of SALON des Refusés 2025 exhibition and Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA) exhibition at Museum and Art Gallery Northern Territory (MAGNT)
Thursday 7 August
- Gallery tours, artist talks and/or behind-the-scenes experiences led by Gloria Strzelecki, Associate Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art
- Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Opening Ceremony
- Access to Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair
Friday 8 August
