What do you see when you look at a work of art? Do you see what the artist saw? Or something completely different?

A Brush with Hope

Come on a journey to the world we live in, and to the worlds that live within us. Join award-winning writer, performer and story-teller Michael Mills as he takes you on an enchanting, interactive voyage through the halls of the Art Gallery of South Australia, and the works of art that dwell there. While taking on the essence of five different Australian artists in Jeffrey Smart, Max Meldrum, Hans Heysen, Mortimer Menpes, and John Russell, Michael explores their work, along with the remarkable work of such artists as Clarice Beckett and Dorrit Black. A Brush with Hope gives an insight into the different points of view when it comes to art, and how to create it. It reminds us all, that we are all, artists, in the end.
