Digital blueprints inspired by Sonja and Elisa Jane Carmichael

Quandamooka artists Sonja and Leecee Carmichael have been a source of inspiration for Year 8 Unley High students during NAIDOC Week. The cyanotypes by the Carmichaels are informed by their family’s deep cultural connections to the land and seas of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).

Students were introduced to the artists with a short video and created their own digital ‘blueprints’ that represented objects, symbols or traditions that were important to them or their family.
