This exhibition has travelled from the land of the Kwini people in the Kimberley region of northwestern Australia. Wandjina Country showcases the cultural storytelling of the talented Kira Kiro artists working from their art centre established at Kalumburu. These works of art are distinct, earthy, vibrant and contemporary depictions of their land, animals and rock art – in particular the figures of the Wandjina or ‘rain maker’ and Kira Kiro or Gwion Gwion, the helpers of the Wandjina.
