PRIDE is the first major presentation in South Australia of the work of Ngarigo artist Peter Waples-Crowe. An unapologetic celebration, PRIDE brings Aboriginal queer visibility to the fore and highlights Waples-Crowe’s dedication to community. His work, across diverse media, is a deep commentary on the world as a contested site for his multiple identities.

Co-curated by Patrice Sharkey and Dominic Guerrera (Kaurna, Ngarrindjeri), PRIDE also provides a platform for three local emerging artists – Alfred Lowe (Arrernte), Tyberius Larking (Mirning) and Jayda Wilson (Gugada, Wirangu), who have been mentored by Waples-Crowe. Each artist has contributed works that connect thematically to what pride means to them.
