Tarnanthi Exhibition

Biting the Air is an exhibition of new and recent photographic works by Batjala artist Fiona Foley.

The 2015 series of photographs was created on South Stradbroke Island with local Quandamooka woman Delvene Cockatoo Collins as her model and surrogate, and photographed by Foley’s long-time collaborative partner Carl Warner. The series is Foley’s most personally driven work to date, a suite of photographs that negotiate the power and inherent violence of the schoolroom.

Biting the Air is presented in partnership with the Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia.
