Emily Ferretti’s Shifting Landscapes series is comprised of twenty-one works on paper, showcasing the artist’s exploration of landscape imaging through the process of monotype printing. Starting with a single motif taken from the artist’s sketchbook, the landscape image becomes a departure point to explore the infinite possibilities of planar and linear form, colour and texture. Through this restless ‘shifting’, Ferretti has mined the physical and psychological spaces of the landscape.

Ferretti is a painter whose figurative and abstract images derive equally from collected images, memory and the imagination. Her paintings engage with a history of picture making across genres and traditions. Her recurring motifs include rural and domestic scenes.
