Discover alternative strategies to support senior Visual Art and Design students with developing rich topics for their visual study in this pre-recorded online presentation.

Framed around the SACE Performance Standards this session will address topics:

• What is the Visual Study?
• Suggestions for developing complex, innovative topics and personally relevant ideas.
• Using the Gallery and/or artists as the starting point for topic/ideas.
• Strategies to unpack written and visual information.
• Tips for getting started on day one of teaching the Visual Study – piquing students’ interest and using resources/materials available to you.
• Responding to historical and contemporary works of art, rather than copying/emulating artists’ works.

Recommended for senior secondary teachers and Year 11 and 12 students.
