Storytelling through art inspired by Badger Bates
Barkandji artist Badger Bates has been a source of inspiration for Year 8 Woodcroft College students. Bates often depicts elements of the interconnected ecosystem of the Barka (Darling River), communicating stories about the importance of all living things.
The students created their own lino design featuring an Australian animal which told a story about the connection it has with its environment. Students learnt about the importance of storytelling through art and how artists can communicate their ideas through a variety of media.
