Year 11 Creative Arts | Fashion Design - Cabra Dominican College

Year 11 Creative Arts-Fashion Design students, from Cabra Dominican College, focused their Inquiry task on Yindjibarndi artist, Wendy Hubert, and her collaboration with fashion label, Nancybird. Exploring the ethics and morals of artistic collaborations and the process of taking an original work of art from canvas to print gave the students much to consider in relation to their own future creative projects.

Inspired by meaningful places and personal memories, students designed their patterns by hand, using watercolour paints, before scanning the images for printing with Digital Fabrics Australia. They were thrilled with the results and noted that investing in the design of not only the shape of the garment but also the print of the fabric provided a deeper connection to their final works.
