Jilamara Arts and Crafts Association

Jilamara Arts and Crafts Association, at Milikapiti on Melville Island, is a Tiwi-owned and governed art centre specialising in fine-art ochre painting, carving, limited-edition prints and handmade screenprinted textiles.

Jilamara artists are nationally and internationally renowned for their unique Tiwi style. They produce contemporary works based on ceremonial body painting designs, clan totems and Tiwi creation stories. The Tiwi palette of red, yellow, white and black comes from natural ochre pigments collected on country.
