Tarnanthi - Journey Home, David Gulpilil
Sat 25 Oct 2025
David Dalaithngu Gulpilil AM was much loved by South Australian audiences. The actor’s death in 2021 was a beginning of sorts: a journey home to his birthplace, to Gupulul in Arnhem Land. His return was a huge logistical challenge, but it is a memorable journey, culminating in his bäpurru (funeral ceremony) which becomes a celebration of law, of Country, of tradition, of kinship, of ceremony. Journey Home, David Gulpilil offers a rare glimpse into the strong culture that lives on in the heart of his people.
