Tarnanthi Exhibition

Gunybi Ganambarr claimed nationwide attention last year when he was named overall winner of the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards for an exquisite etching of traditional designs on aluminium panel. Now the inspired maverick of contemporary Yolŋu art pushes the boundaries into new areas, working alongside Stephen Anthony from JamFactory’s Furniture Studio to combine opposing materials to express the meeting of cultures. He has also explored new industrial processes with JamFactory’s Metal Studio to produce beautifully engraved metal works in serial form.
