Jacobus Capone’s artistic practice incorporates performance, photography, video installation, painting and site-specific work. He strives in his work to integrate all action into one holistic, poetic experience.

His two-channel video work documents a site-specific performance at the base of an unstable glacial face in Norway. A human figure treads a tentative path along a snowy precipice at the glacier’s terminus, the footsteps tracing a faltering line. On one side, the melting and calving end point of a glacier; on the other, humanity, responsible for the glacier’s rapid decline. Demarcation is part of Capone’s ongoing project Forewarning, a series of reconciliations and farewells in environments that have become fragile through time and human action.
