For millennia the Balinese have cultivated artistic and cultural practices inspired by indigenous beliefs and intercultural exchange. As the only remaining Hindu society in Southeast Asia, the complex ritual cycles undertaken to placate the seen and unseen forces of their world have resulted in a diverse array of sculptures, textiles, paintings, architectural elements and ritual objects.
