Start at the Gallery: More than a word

See and feel the poetry in art at Start, exploring our engagement with the world and each other through a spectrum of performances, music and making inspired by the 18th Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Inner Sanctum.

Book into these *activities on arrival, except Auslan Tours, which are booked online. Registrations open at 10.30am. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Kick Start Tours

Kick start your day with an interactive art experience.
Drop in, Tours every 20 minutes, duration 20 minutes.

Auslan Kick Start Tour

Take an Auslan interpreted tour for deaf and hearing-impaired children and/or parents.

Combine imagery and ideas from across time and place etched in pastel and paint.

11am-12pm - Adelaide Biennial and The Studio feature artist, George Cooley performs his poetry in song, Courtyard Marquee

12pm-1pm - Beats mixed by DJ duo Angel on the decks, Courtyard Marquee

Respond to works of art on display through contemporary dance with creative choreographers Jessie McKinlay and Tanya Voges.
Register at the Start Art Club desk, duration 30 minutes, sessions every half hour.

*Start Sketch Tours

Join artists Lauren Herraman and Gemma Rose Brook on a drawing journey.
Register at the Start Art Club desk, duration 45 minutes, sessions every half hour. Meet in Upper Atrium, Gallery 7.

*12pm Auslan Sketch Tour

Take an Auslan interpreted Sketch Tour for deaf and hearing-impaired children and/or parents.
