Celebrate Nalini Malani’s first Australian survey exhibition Nalini Malani: Gamepieces this First Fridays. Immerse yourself in the exhibition with a performance from dance artist Tanya Voges - afterwards take a tour of Nalini Malani: Gamepieces or explore our new acquisitions in Bewilderness and Sera Waters: Future traditions. Collaborate and create your own animation chamber in an animation workshop and chill out in the courtyard with live music from Kyarna Rose or Nancy Bates and the Naughty Girls.

Musical Performance - Nancy Bates

Nancy Bates is a proud Barkindji Woman and an accomplished signer-songwriter. Nancy is a prolific vocalist who caught the attention of Archie Roach and his Manager Jill Shelton in 2014. Archie Roach rates Nancy as one of the finest singer-songwriters in Australia, who deserves to be heard.

Workshop

Create a collective animation chamber with artist Luku Kuku. Starting with a walkthrough of Nalini Malani: Gamepieces, be inspired by themes of activism, history and innovation as you create and layer lines, colour and light with finger drawn animations.

Immerse in Nalini Malani: Gamepieces with the improvised movements of dance artist Tanya Voges. Inspired by the sounds, shadows and projected light of Gamepieces, Tanya performs within the exhibition.
