Held over four consecutive Saturdays, this short course is an introduction to Australian Art.

Catering to individuals without knowledge of art, this course includes an introduction to colonial South Australian art, an overview of the early representations of the southern land, case studies on Aboriginal art from the Central Desert and an analysis of Australian Surrealism, with a focus on its South Australian contributors.

Presented by curators and leading thinkers, the course content is delivered as a series of engaging lectures with opportunities for discussion and debate. While the course will take its lead from the Gallery’s collection, it will also include material from other collections.
