Membership offers free exhibition access, discounts, exclusive events, behind-the-scenes experiences, and access to the Members Lounge. Additional benefits may vary based on membership type.

• Discounted exhibition entry: Special offers may arise for Members to receive free access to exhibitions, including ticketed and special exhibitions. Currently, if members choose to renew for two years or more, they receive a complimentary ticket to the current major exhibition. This offer will likely continue to future exhibitions. • Exclusive events: Invitations to members-only events, including previews, curator talks, and behind-the-scenes tours.
• Discounts: Members enjoy discounts at the Gallery Shop, AGSA_eat, and special rates for paid events, workshops, and programs.
• Magazine subscription: Members receive a subscription to the gallery's printed magazine and digital newsletter, providing updates on upcoming exhibitions, events, and gallery news.
• Reciprocal membership: Access to other participating galleries and cultural institutions, often allowing free or discounted entry and additional benefits.

• Individual Membership: For a single person.
• Concession Membership: Discounted membership for students, pensioners, and seniors.
• Joint member: Two individuals combined membership.

NOTES: Concession memberships are available to full-time students, pensioners, veterans’ affairs, health care card holders and country residents (postcodes 5200+). Joint members must reside at the same address.

Pricing depends on the type of membership chosen. There are often different rates for individual, family, and concession memberships. The AGSA membership pages on our website typically provides the most up-to-date pricing. Membership is available to purchase at different durations, one, two, or three years.

• Memberships can be purchased or renewed online through the AGSA website, in person at the gallery, or over the phone.
• You will receive renewal reminders prior to the expiration of your membership. Renewals can be processed online, in person, or over the phone.

Most gallery memberships are non-transferable, meaning only the person named on the membership can use it for benefits like event invitations. AGSA memberships are non-transferable and can only be used by the named member. AGSA members who want to enjoy membership benefits with a partner can purchase a joint membership.

Yes, many galleries, including AGSA, offer gift memberships, which can be purchased for friends or family members. The recipient will receive all the benefits of the chosen membership level.

In case of a lost card, contact the AGSA membership office to request a replacement. A small fee may apply.

AGSA members often enjoy benefits at other galleries or museums within Australia and internationally through reciprocal membership agreements. Always check the gallery’s website for a list of participating institutions. Best practice is to reach out to the institution you are planning to visit to check their policies.

Memberships are typically non-refundable once purchased. Make sure to check the terms and conditions for specifics before purchasing your AGSA membership.

AGSA memberships are valid for 12, 24, or 36 months from the date of purchase. If a member renews early the additional time will be added on to their current expiry date.

To check your AGSA membership status, you can:

• Contact the Membership Office: Call or email the membership department to inquire about your current membership details.
• In-Person: Visit the gallery’s information desk or Gallery Store, where staff can assist you with checking your membership status.

You can join various AGSA events such as book clubs, art talks, and workshops by checking the AGSA event calendar. Simply select an event that interests you and follow the registration instructions on the event’s page. Many events are exclusive to members, so ensure your membership is active to enjoy these exclusive benefits.

To see which events have reached capacity, visit the event’s page here and look for ‘book’ button. If an event is at capacity, this message will appear:

This event has reached its capacity. For enquiries or to join the waiting list, please contact the Membership Office on members@artgallery.sa.gov.au or 7085 1624.

You can sign up for any waiting list by providing your details. You will be contacted if a spot becomes available.

• The Members Lounge and facilities are available for use by AGSA members during AGSA opening hours.
• Members must carry their membership card with them when accessing the Members Lounge.
• Members and guests must vacate the Members Lounge 15 minutes prior to AGSA closing time.
• Members Lounge opening and closing times are subject to change without notice.
• Members are not permitted to remove any items from the Lounge.
• Members and guests must respect each other and staff. Aggressive behaviour (verbal or physical) will not be tolerated.
• Members and guests are requested to observe AGSA protocols regarding artworks in the Lounge.
• Persons behaving in an unacceptable manner will be asked to leave the premises and their membership may be cancelled.
• The Members Lounge is not available for use for private parties or group activities without pre-arranged permission from the Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA).
• All visitors must follow directions from AGSA staff. Members may be asked to leave the Members Lounge at any time by AGSA staff should they not respect the members terms and conditions of entry and use policy.
• Small business meetings are permitted but must be informal and discreet in order not to disturb other guests.
• Children must be supervised at all times.
• The Members Lounge kitchen is available for use by all AGSA members, offering complimentary tea and coffee. We kindly request that members maintain the cleanliness of the space by tidying up after use. Any cutlery, cups, or dishes should be placed in the dishwasher provided. The gallery strives to create a welcoming environment for all, and your cooperation in keeping the kitchen area clean and organized is greatly appreciated. This ensures a pleasant experience for everyone enjoying the lounge.
