WALL LABEL: Hans Heysen: The Creative Journey, 1992
In Laigneville, a small village about forty kilometres north of Paris, Heysen made a number of drawings of people and of a church. These images were later incorporated into his illustration for the poem ‘The Funeral’ which appeared in The Lone Hand magazine in October 1907.
