Rick Amor: Contemporary Romantic, 2016 - 2017
This work evolved from a painting The visitor (The rock) 1994, and depicts a huge rock monolith emerging from the water. The image recalls the rock formations of the Aran Islands, off the west coast of Ireland; however, Amor dramatises the scale of the rock to suggest a large mysterious presence, a psychological rather than a physical reality.
