• Walk through Ramsay Art Prize 2025
  • Activity: Have a look around and select one work that you want to ask Neo Goers a question about.
    • Example - Clara Adolphs
      • What is the coolest cloud formation you've seen?
      • Is there a moment that these clouds remind you of?
• Discuss activity responses and exhibition

Minutes:

Discuss activity responses and exhibition

• Glass (Liam Flemming's work) looked yummy, kind of like a lolly
  • Cool that the group got to see how these may have been made at the JamFactory in January
• Multicultural - while they are all Australian artists this identifier is different for each of the artists with a lot of them being born in other countries or having different cultural background. It was nice to see this mix in the works.
• Some Questions that were shared:
  • How do you feel about the use of AI in art?
  • Would you eat this?
  • What do you think a stranger is thinking or doing? (Looking at Stanislava Pinchuks work)
  • How many faces can you count? (Looking at Jason Phu's work)
  • What's inside you? (Looking at Miguel Aquilizan and Jack Ball's works)
  • Is AI more or less ethical when used to assist rather than create?
  • What was your favourite work and how does it make you feel?

Playlist for Silent Disco: Currently has 21 minutes worth of music in it. Miles will share the link with everyone, Miles, Frankie, Felix and Grayson are still leading the creation of the playlist.
If we are adoing 4 x 30min sessions of different genres should the playlist be split into 4?

Zine: Nobody has really worked on this (which is so okay!), just a reminder that it is an option if people are keen.

Neo Hot House Ideas
This one will be different as we will be at AGSA (not out and about). We will have at least one hands on workshop activity and some other bits with staff at the gallery.

• Debrief Neo Technicolour
• Decide Dress up theme

Debrief:

• We liked:
  Bands - Fireprayer
• More fun that it was a smaller event
• Stained Glass and post cards, didn't get to do it at event but they were cool activities
• Danny Jarratt & Jake Yang - Loved artists
• Portrait Drawing with Oil Pastels - drawing with friends was really cool
• Badgemaking in the Function Room - keeps it all in one spot and the lighting makes it easier to see
  • Action: Use Function Room in future
• Miranda Kate is cool!
• Liked the map - hard to erase though (Fifi and Isobel are looking into this!)
• Music - needs to be better monitored by staff
  • Action - better communication with bands around expectations of audience (don't encourage moshing pls)

Negative:

• Didn't like line for
• Lines for food and drink - bollard between?
• Reminders for people to cancel their tickets if they aren't going
• People were really excited to see what is in the NAC storage - Signage?
  • A reminder that you can cloak your items before anybody else if you are setting up! We can't always guarantee a space to store your stuff.
• Food went quickly - Order more? - Flavours signs - could we survey for flavours?
• Sticky - can we do anything about this? - picnic mats - People like sitting on the floor - don't sit here signs?
• Nobody engaged with the stained glass

• Neo has received funding from The Lang Foundation 🎉
• Hot House - the group voted on an artist workshop as the activity instead of going to ArtLab.
• Food at Neo Ultra-Modern will be pancakes and popcorn!

  For anyone who would like to make a mood board of outfits, please send Isobel your designs by the end of next week. Make sure the image is sized for an Instagram story (1080 x 1920 pixels or a 9:16 aspect ratio).
  
  We’re also planning to set up a group chat for event-related communication. This group chat will be used strictly for event discussions, NAC meetings, and updates. We’d like to have it ready before the next event, but we’re still deciding whether it should be on WhatsApp or Instagram. 🤔🤔🤔

Debrief of Neo the Craft

Huuuuuuuge thank you to everyone for your help! We had over 620 people attend the event and super positive feedback🥳

Good:

• Vibe was good
• Music went well for the most part
• People mostly happy
• Range of activities was good
• Ran smoothly
• City Libraries was great!
• Activities were easy to understand – liked this
• Spread out of activities was great

To be Improved:

• Line speed – understand that it can’t really change
• Ran out of say hi bracelets
• Balance across activities wasn’t even
• A fair bit of rubbish around
• slushies didn’t freeze
  More mats
  Badgemaking was a bit far away
• Volunteering Roles – how can we communicate better with each other
  • Buddy system – working with someone
  • More structure on tasks
• Ticketing system for photobooth – the lineup was too long
  • Buzzers?

Signage:

• Include Event Map in the reminder email
• Arrows – tape to floor with painters tape?
• Use Neon tape on top of masking tape to create additional arrows
• Large event map at entrance A0
  • Look towards laminating and using symbols/markers
• Sign post were there are no activities to reduce amount of people searching for stuff

Future events:

• Karaoke and Silent disco to alternate
  • Karaoke
    • No more than 2 songs queued per group
  • Silent Disco
    • Set playlists – make iPad inaccessible to people
    • Ensure there are sanitising wipes and covers available
• Bring back theatre games – Odd Sockz
• Scavenger hunt for orgs could encourage people to the quieter activities
• Scavenger hunts are fun in general

Other bits we spoke about:

• Incident on stage:
  • Moshing ended up heading on stage. Everyone is fine and there was no damage
  • We do not want to encourage unsafe behaviour – but instead invite people to learn how to gig safely
  • We have been in contact with the band and talked about gig etiquette
• Notes in Cauldron
  • There were some inappropriate notes put in the cauldron that listed full names in a negative way.
  • It’s to be expected when there is something that seems anonymous.
  • If you see something at Neo that concerns you, contact staff or security immediately
• Vapes and other bits
  • Never okay at Neo, if you see anything please let staff or security know.
