Collaborative printmaking inspired by Badger Bates

Barkandji artist Badger Bates has been a source of inspiration for Year 8 Underdale High students. Bates often depicts elements of the interconnected ecosystem of the Barka (Darling River).

The students investigated the local waterways that surround the school and researched the issues impacting this environment and the marine life. Using these ideas as a starting point they created their own lino print. This collaborative work celebrates the health of marine life in our region and aims to remind us to all take care of our environment - Alana Birrell, Art Teacher
